Corrosion resistance is a material or product’s ability to withstand deterioration caused by moisture, salt, chemicals, and other corrosive conditions. For heavy-duty work lights, housings, coatings, fasteners, and seals all contribute. Nordic Lights product specifications may state salt-spray testing according to ISO 9227; the duration is product-specific. Corrosion can weaken components, damage finishes, affect electrical connections, and eventually compromise sealing or mechanical strength. Material selection and surface treatment should match the actual exposure, including coastal salt, road salt, fertilizers, chemicals, humidity, and temperature cycling. A test result is comparable only when the standard, test duration, preparation, and acceptance criteria are known.
