Nordic Lights aims to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) as part of its sustainability initiatives. In the preceding year, the company achieved a calculated emission reduction of 16%, with the total GHG emissions amounting to 6763 tons of CO2e. This reduction is measured in comparison to the emissions from the previous year.

Reducing the amount of waste

Nordic Lights’ current recycling rate stands at approximately 42%, a slight decrease of 3% compared to last year. Waste generated from manufacturing in the last reporting period amounted to 322,875 kg, with a 1% reduction compared to the previous year.

Water Usage

 

Nordic Lights does not require water for its production processes. The water consumption is directly correlated with the number of employees and their personal usage. Currently, the water consumption stands at approximately 20 liters per employee per workday. At present, this figure does not indicate a need for reduction measures.

Energy consumption down by 7 %

During the last measurement period, the total electricity consumption was 1497 MWh, marking a 7% reduction compared to the previous period. When normalized against revenue (1000 Euros), the electricity consumption per unit of turnover amounted to 24.31 kWh per 1k Euro turnover. This figure represents a 2.5% reduction compared to the previous measurement period.
