A forklift truck, usually shortened to forklift, is a powered industrial vehicle that lifts and transports loads using forks or another attachment. Lighting may include work lights, road lights, and safety or warning lights, depending on the operating environment and applicable requirements. Forklifts operate around loads, racking, pedestrians, doors, trailers, and other vehicles, often in spaces with rapidly changing light. Well-planned lighting helps reveal the fork tips, load face, travel direction, sides, and rear. The installation must avoid obstructing the mast or operator’s view and should limit reflections from shrink-wrap, polished floors, and mirrors.
