A light bar is a long, narrow lighting assembly containing multiple light sources. On heavy-duty vehicles it may provide auxiliary driving or work illumination. Performance depends on the light pattern, mounting position, electrical compatibility, and applicable road-use approval, not on the bar shape alone. Light bars are available in different lengths, outputs, optical configurations, and mounting styles. A longer housing does not automatically mean better performance: useful visibility depends on how intensity is distributed across the required field. Installation should also account for vibration, airflow, cable routing, glare, legal restrictions, and possible reflections from the hood or cab.
