A mobile crane is a crane mounted on a wheeled or tracked carrier so it can move between lifting locations. It normally uses a telescopic or lattice boom. Lighting supports travel, setup, load handling, boom visibility, and work around outriggers and access points. Because the crane changes position and configuration, the relevant viewing areas vary during travel, setup, lifting, and stowing. A complete lighting plan may cover the road ahead, boom or jib, hook and load, winches, outriggers, access steps, and the machine perimeter. Lamps should be positioned to avoid obstruction and glare through cab glazing.
