Paving Machine

A paving machine, or paver, places and pre-compacts asphalt or concrete to form a uniform surface. It uses a hopper, conveyor, augers, and screed. Lighting supports material flow, screed operation, edges, travel, and nearby personnel during low-light work. Consistent paving requires the operator and crew to observe the material level, auger chamber, screed, mat edges, joints, and surrounding traffic. Lighting should provide broad, uniform coverage with limited shadows so surface texture and alignment remain visible. Lamps also need to withstand heat, dust, vibration, weather, and frequent cleaning.
