Spot Beam

Spot beam is an industry term for a narrow light pattern that concentrates intensity for longer-range visibility. Nordic Lights generally uses product-specific pattern names such as High Beam or Pencil Beam for narrow, long-reaching patterns, so the specified Nordic Lights name should be used when referring to a particular product. Such a pattern is useful when the operator must identify objects well ahead of the vehicle, but its limited width may leave nearby or peripheral areas unlit. It is often combined with wider work-light patterns. Candela distribution and photometric diagrams should be checked because the word spot does not define one universal angle or performance level.
