Vibration Resistance

Vibration resistance is a product’s ability to continue operating and remain mechanically intact during specified vibration exposure. Nordic Lights states vibration capability in Grms together with a frequency range, because a Grms value without the test range and method is incomplete. Shock resistance is a related but separate specification. Vibration can loosen fasteners, fatigue brackets and conductors, damage solder joints, shift optics, and compromise seals. Performance depends on mounting orientation and structural resonance as well as the lamp itself. Appropriate brackets, tightening torque, cable support, and dampening help the complete installation withstand the vehicle’s mechanical environment.
