Zone Lighting

Zone lighting divides a machine or worksite into functional areas that can be illuminated and, where supported, controlled separately. Typical zones include the travel path, attachment or tool, loading area, sides, rear, access steps, and service points. The required lights and patterns depend on the application and operating conditions. Separate control can let the operator activate only the areas relevant to travel, loading, reversing, servicing, or a particular attachment. This can reduce glare, reflections, and unnecessary power use. A good zone plan also considers overlap between patterns, shadows created by machine structures, camera locations, operator sightlines, and the effect on nearby workers.
