Color Rendering Index

Color Rendering Index (CRI) measures how accurately a light source reveals object colors compared with a reference light source. CRI is reported on a scale up to 100; higher values indicate more natural color rendering. Nordic Lights identifies CRI of 80 or above as suitable when precise color recognition is important. Good color rendering can help operators distinguish cables, controls, surface changes, warning markings, materials, and other color-dependent details. CRI should not be confused with color temperature: two lamps can have the same CCT but different color-rendering performance. The appropriate CRI depends on the task, while light output and distribution must still meet visibility requirements.
