Dozer is a shortened form of bulldozer: a powerful earthmoving machine fitted with a front blade for pushing, spreading, and grading soil, rock, or other material. Dozers may run on tracks or wheels and are widely used in construction, mining, and forestry. The blade may be configured for straight pushing, angled work, or shaping material, and some machines also use a rear ripper to break hard ground. Because the machine often works close to surfaces and obstacles, lighting should provide a clear view of the blade corners, travel direction, ground profile, and surrounding work zone.
