Wattage is the electrical power used by a device, expressed in watts (W). In Nordic Lights technical data, the preferred label is Power Consumption. Wattage does not indicate light output by itself; compare it with operational lumens, luminous efficacy, and the required light pattern. Power consumption is needed for sizing alternators, batteries, wiring, connectors, fuses, and control devices. Two lamps with the same wattage can produce different output and very different light distributions because their LEDs, drivers, optics, and thermal design differ. Electrical power should therefore be treated as one system-design value rather than a measure of brightness.
